Replace submitter

User management


You would like to replace the person responsible for submitting an abstract with another person,

  • to schedule them as an invited speaker

  • to add a new contact person for the abstract

Please note: The replacement is done by transferring a user account to a new person. The account of the person being replaced will be deleted at the same time.
If the person being replaced has submitted multiple abstracts, all abstracts will be transferred to the new account.

Navigate to
> User
> Manage user

Step 1: Create a new person

Note: If the person already exists, skip this step.

Use the following button to create a new person in the User administration:

Step 2: Open account of person to replace

Filter by role, e.g. "submitter" or "invited speaker", enter the name or email address of the person you are looking for in the search box on the right and click Search.

Select the user you are looking for from the list of results and click the pencil icon next to their role to edit their account.

The detail view will open.


Step 3: Open the "Edit user account" tab

Select the tab "Edit user account".
In the Email field, replace the person's email address with the email address of the person to whom the abstracts should be sent. Confirm your changes by clicking Save.

Step 4: Merge

You will see a new screen where you can transfer the user's data (e.g. David Abt) to the new person's (e.g. Michelle Abt).

Result

After the merge, the user account of Dirk Abt (in this example) was deleted.

All activities are transferred to the new user. In this example:

  • Abstract A-182

  • Lecture: "Geoelectrical and high heated Survey Techniques..."
