Program types

Grundlagen

The following program types are available when creating a program.

  • Sessions

  • Lectures/Events

  • Abstracts

You can use categories to define the event formats (e.g. keynotes, lectures, workshops and poster sessions) that you are offering at your conference. Each program item you create is then assigned to a category.

> Define categories

Session

A session allows you to schedule multiple presentations on a specific topic and/or within a defined time slot.

Example:

The example session starts with an introduction (type: lecture/event), followed by three presentations (type: abstract) and ends with a discussion (type: lecture/event).

Lecture/Event

The program type "Lecture/Event" is used to plan lectures, usually with invited speakers, e.g.

  • Keynote lectures

  • Plenary talks

  • Workshops

  • Panel discussion

or for planning non-scientific events, e.g.

  • Coffee break

  • General meeting

  • Discussion

Abstracts

Abstracts are only planned in sessions. This requires that the abstracts to be scheduled have been accepted. How to accept abstracts is explained here:
